The body of a Hart County man missing since April 10 has been found.

The Hart County Sheriff’s Office said a body was found in Green River near Thomas Bend Road Wednesday night at approximately 6:30 by the Hart County Rescue Squad. The body was transported to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville where the remains were determined on Thursday to be 32-year-old James Jewell, of Canmer.

Jewell had not been seen since he was “apparently picked up by a friend and taken to the power substation on Glen Lily Road” near Green River just off Hwy 31E between Canmer and Linwood on April 11, the Hart County Sheriff’s Office said.

Jewell’s body was found about five miles downstream from where he was dropped off.

The Hart County Sheriff’s Office investigation into the death continues.
