Grayson County High School senior athlete Jackson Crume has signed to join the Union College track and cross country team.
Crume was joined at the signing ceremony by his parents, Kerry and Mike, and the head coach of Union College Chris Jelks.
His older sister, Emery, also ran as a college athlete at Kentucky Wesleyan.
“We are very excited for Jackson,” Grayson County track head coach Matt Hayes said. “He is a wonderful example of someone who works over time toward a goal and is able to be successful. Union College is getting a wonderful athlete and an even better person.”
Crume has had a strong career at GCHS. Just last week, he finished in second place in the 3200m dash at the highly competitive Owensboro Invitational. He was eighth in the region cross country meet and finished 30th in the state.
Last year, he was a member of a 4x800m team that qualified for the KHSAA state championship.
Union College is an NAIA school in Barbourville, Kentucky.
