An eastern Kentucky man has been charged with killing a woman.
Kentucky State Police arrested Brian S. Smith, 40, of Gray, and charged him in the Thursday shooting death of 42-year-old Shelby McIntyre.
The incident began Thursday morning at approximately 4:55 on Parker Lane in Gray when the Knox County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from Kentucky State Police after McIntyre was found dead inside a residence from a gunshot wound.
Smith fled the scene but was arrested Thursday afternoon at approximately 3:15 in Laurel County. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center on a $500,000 cash bond.
Police said McIntyre and Smith were arguing when Smith shot the victim.
The investigation continues.
