Kentucky State Police arrested a Breckinridge County man for a triple-murder.
State police said that on Wednesday evening at approximately 10:20, troopers responded to a residence on High Plains Road after the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office discovered three deceased individuals while conducting a welfare check.
The preliminary investigation revealed that two women, 77-year-old Audrey Whealan and 51-year-old Michelle Whealan, were found murdered inside the residence, while a man, 58-year-old Doss Smothers, was found deceased outside the home.
All three were from Breckinridge County and appeared to have died from blunt force trauma, according to Kentucky State Police.
Two deceased dogs were found inside the home, as well.
Authorities arrested 28-year-old Tyler Wehmeyer and charged him with three counts of murder, second-degree cruelty to animals and tampering with physical evidence. He was lodged in the Breckinridge County Detention Center.
Detective Casey Keown, assisted by troopers and detectives, is leading the investigation.
