Two Elizabethtown men have been sentenced to federal prison after carjacking and robbing a pizza delivery driver.
Prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Kentucky said 24-year-old Jalyn Redd and 19-year-old Dayveon Willock were sentenced to four years in prison after entering guilty pleas to carjacking and interference with commerce by robbery.
According to court documents and statements made in court, prosecutors said Redd and Willock lured the Domino’s Pizza driver to the location of the carjacking by placing an online order for a pizza. When the homeowner rejected the pizza, Willock, who had parked with Redd nearby, approached the victim and pointed a 9 mm semi-automatic firearm at the driver. They demanded the victim’s keys and drove away in the victim’s car.
They both faced a maximum of 15 years in prison on the carjacking charge and 20 years for the robbery count.
The Louisville Metropolitan Police Department and Homeland Security investigated the case with assistance from the FBI, Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force and Elizabethtown Police Department.
