A Grayson County school bus driver has resigned her position after being indicted for first-degree wanton endangerment.

Lacy L. Richmond, 36, of Sonora, was recently indicted on two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment (a class D felony) by a Grayson County Grand Jury.

The indictment stems from an alleged incident that occurred on the afternoon of Saturday, March 11, 2023, when, according to the complaint warrant, Richmond “crossed the center line of the road on Millerstown Road purposefully, nearly striking the vehicle being driven by (an adult female), her infant child was also a passenger …”

She was arrested by Grayson County Deputy Wally Ritter on March 22 and lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center but has since been released.

Richmond, according to online records, was also indicted by a Grayson County Grand Jury in September 2021 for three counts of harassment (no physical contact) and third-degree terroristic threatening for an incident that took place on August 25, 2021. She was arrested by Kentucky State Police on the strength of an indictment warrant on September 7, 2021, according to the arrest citation.

According to Grayson County Schools officials, Richmond resigned her position late last week.
