A suspect accused of murdering an Elizabethtown man has been indicted on murder and other charges.

Donald K. Elders, 53, of Raywick, was indicted by a Marion County Grand Jury in the December death of Kevin T. Elder.

The case began when Kentucky State Police received a missing person complaint on December 23, 2022, after the 56-year-old Elder disappeared. His family had been searching for him since the previous day.

He had last been seen in the Raywick community, state police said.

The ensuing investigation led state police investigators to obtain and execute a search warrant on a Raywick property and residence belonging to Elders. When troopers executed the warrant, they obtained information that led to the discovery of Elder’s body in an outbuilding on the property.

In addition to the murder indictment, Elders was indicted for tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.

He remains lodged in the Marion County Detention Center on a $2 million cash bond.
