An overdose death in Warren County spurred a joint investigation between Bowling Green police and a drug task force which resulted in the arrest of a Bowling Green man.
The investigation, conducted by the Bowling Green Police Department and the Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force, with assistance from Kentucky State Police, led to the seizure of 290 fentanyl pills (M-30 pills), 75 Xanax pills, 50.4 grams of cocaine, 10 grams of methamphetamine, two stolen handguns, and $17,200 in cash.
The seizure followed a controlled purchase of 25 fentanyl pills on Friday afternoon from 32-year-old Robert V. Watkins in a business parking lot in the 3900 block of Hwy 185, just north of Bowling Green. Police then obtained a search warrant for Watkins’ residence in the 4300 block of Anna Sandhill Road, about three miles east of Richardsville, where law enforcement conducted the seizure.
Watkins was charged with five counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine), trafficking in a marijuana, receiving stolen property (handgun), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
