Severe weather could impact Grayson County on Thursday as thunderstorms entered the region during the early morning hours.
The National Weather Service (NWS) says the primary threats of the systems are strong, possibly damaging winds and hail, with potential tornadic activity as well. Additionally, localized flooding could become an issue, as the NWS says the area will experience “repeating rounds of heavy showers and storms” throughout the morning and afternoon.
While traveling, be aware of water over the roadways, particularly when driving on Grayson County roads that traditionally flood during heavy rainfall.
It is also possible, with the combination of heavy rain and high winds, that trees and utility lines could be impacted by the storms.
The initial set of thunderstorms will push through the area during the morning hours with a second round of storms expected during the afternoon.
