A Butler County woman involved in an August 2022 accident on the Western Kentucky Parkway that killed a man formerly of Grayson County has been jailed on a murder charge.

Meagan D. Renfrow, 35, of Morgantown, was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center (GCDC) on Tuesday. According to the GCDC, Renfrow was given a $100,000 bond.

The two-vehicle accident occurred the morning of August 18, 2022, when Renfrow, driving a Jeep Liberty eastbound near the 103-mile marker, crossed the median and became airborne before striking a westbound 2016 Ford Fusion, being driven by 31-year-old Dakota Parks (who lived in Eastview at the time of the wreck, but was originally from Grayson County).

He was pronounced deceased at the scene by Grayson County Deputy Coroner Larry Holeman. Parks was on his way to work in Caneyville at the time of the accident.

Renfrow was transported by EMS to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Kentucky State Police, with assistance from the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, spent several hours reconstructing the accident, as the debris field approached 300 yards wide.
