Two people have died in a murder-suicide in Lincoln County.
Kentucky State Police responded Friday afternoon at approximately 4:00 to Moccasin Road, about 15 miles southwest of Stanford, on the report of two people being shot.
Upon arriving at the scene, police found 51-year-old Jamie Fowler and 52-year-old Steven Hiter deceased from gunshot wounds. State police said the initial investigation showed that Hiter shot Fowler before turning the gun on himself. The investigation, though, is ongoing.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office told WKYT.com that deputies responded to the home on Sunday, February 5, after the couple got into a verbal dispute. Sheriff Shawn Hines said Fowler “indicated she was going to move out,” WKYT.com reports.
