Glasgow HS student who suffered medical emergency at school passes away

The Glasgow High School student who was rushed from the school on January 20 after suffering a medical emergency has died.

Glasgow Independent Schools issued the following statement on the 14-year-old female student’s death at Norton Children’s Hospital:

We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of one of our Glasgow High School Scottie students on Friday evening, January 27th. Words are inadequate to express our heartfelt condolences. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends, classmates, and staff of the student during this challenging time.

We know this news is difficult to process and affects our entire school community. Our district and regional response team have and will continue to provide support for our students and staff. Linked below are tips in addressing grief that may be useful to you in the coming days.

On the morning of January 20, the student was transported to TJ Samson Community Hospital and later airlifted to a Louisville hospital after suffering an unknown medical emergency.
