The man accused of shooting a woman multiple times in Pulaski County before dropping her off at a hospital has been arrested in Illinois.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s office said 48-year-old Sonny L. Powell shot 44-year-old Natosha Robinson, both of Somerset, multiple times Thursday and dropped her off at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Robinson was later transported to University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. Her current condition has not been released.

Pulaski County officials said Powell was arrested sometime early Friday morning in Lombard, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago about 440 miles from Somerset.

Powell was lodged in the DuPage County (Ill.) Detention Center but is currently not listed as an inmate, indicating he could be on his way back to Pulaski County.
