A Glasgow High School student suffered a drug overdose Friday morning at the school.
The school was placed on lock down soon after 8:00 Friday morning after a female student overdosed. WNKY.com reports that a member of the Barren County Board of Education confirmed the student overdosed.
The student was transported to TJ Samson Community Hospital and later airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital. A report by WCLU.com states that the student was intubated and placed on a ventilator.
Glasgow Police Department spokesman Terry Flatt told WNKY.com: “The situation has been handled. No other students were in any kind of immediate danger. Our condolences do go out to the persons and the family who were involved in the incident.”
The student’s current condition has not been released.
