The Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force has arrested a Leitchfield man on drug charges.

On Wednesday afternoon at 4:00, the task force served arrest warrants out of Boone and Grayson counties on 24-year-old Matthew Breeden at a residence in the 600 block of Commerce Drive.

The Boone County warrants were issued after Breeden absconded from parole on two burglary charges, according to police. The Grayson County warrant was for giving an officer a false name.

When officers arrived at the residence, a “known drug house,” according to police, Breeden attempted to flee out the back door of the mobile home but was quickly caught. Additionally, while serving the warrants, police observed drugs and drug paraphernalia in plain view.

The task force, while the Leitchfield Police Department and Grayson County Sheriff’s Office guarded the residence, obtained a search warrant.

At approximately 5:45 Wednesday evening the search warrant was executed with police finding methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Breeden was charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

Assisting at the scene were LPD Officer Brian Jennings, Missy Skaggs and Bart Glenn, Deputy Sean Fentress and Constable Mark Stanton.
