An inmate being held in the Adair County Detention Center since October 2021 on 13 charges including child rape, incest, assault, and strangulation, is facing an additional charge of facilitation to commit murder.

On Tuesday, Kentucky State Police was contacted by jail officials in regards to a “suspicious letter” that an inmate, 37-year-old Paul S. Bricker, of Columbia, had attempted to mail out of the facility.

Through an investigation, police discovered Bricker had attempted to send a letter soliciting the murder of another individual.

As a result of the investigation, Bricker was charged with solicitation to commit murder.

Bricker is in jail after being charged 15 months ago with first-degree rape (victim under the age of 12), first-degree sodomy (victim under the age of 12), two counts of incest, first-degree strangulation, first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor (illegal controlled substance), third-degree terroristic threatening, violation of Kentucky EPO/DVO, and persistent felony offender.
