Wilbur Scott, age 69, of Clarkson, KY, passed away peacefully Monday, (December 26, 2022) surrounded by his family at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes in Leitchfield, KY. He was born on February 20, 1953 in Leitchfield, KY, the son of the late Shelton and Ruby West Scott.
He was a sailor in the U.S. Navy from 1971-1972 and a retired auto body man, painter & mechanic. He attended Church of God of Prophecy.
He was an avid racing enthusiast that loved to race anything with wheels & speed, be that lawnmowers, go carts, or cars. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved to paint, work in the garden, tend to his plants, go fishing, family game nights and cuddling his pets.
He is survived by his daughters, Amelia Davis (Toby), Amanda Saltsman of Clarkson, Jennifer Reyes of Leitchfield and one son, Dewayne Chapman of Leitchfield; four grandchildren, Tyler Gulley of Bowling Green, Taylor Saltsman Brey (RJ) of Independence, Breanna Saltsman of Leitchfield, and Skylar Chapman of Barren County; five great-grandchildren, Audrey Gulley. Bentley Gulley, Kenli Blessit, Lindsey Taylor and Matthew Taylor, all of Clarkson. He is also survived by a sister, Mildred Frank (Ron) of Leitchfield; three brothers, Calvin Scott, Carroll Scott (Ruby) and Kenny Scott, all of Leitchfield.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Kyle Gulley; two sisters, Nell Scott and Linda Scott Frank; and two brothers, Charles Scott and Bobby Scott.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, (January 1, 2023) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Roy Smith will be officiating. Burial will be in the Sanders Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 9:00 a.m. Sunday until time of services.
