Joseph Ralph Higdon, age 67, of, Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (December 25, 2022) at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes in Leitchfield, KY. He was born on March 27, 1955 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Clifford Thomas and Margie Lush Higdon.
He was a business owner, who started at Pic Pac from high school; He also worked at Citizens Bank in Big Clifty, KY, Vincent’s Store for men, Pizza Chef and was owner and operator of Pier 19, Captain D’s, BB’s Italian Restaurant, and was also a farmer.
He enjoyed working crossword puzzles, farming and playing with his grandchildren and he was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Peonia.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Glenn Higdon; one son, Adam Higdon (Shena) of Leitchfield; three daughters, Amanda Wilkins (Justin) of Franklin, KY, Alana Jones (Bryan) of Leitchfield and Alli Higdon of Louisville, KY; nine grandchildren, Austin, Molly and Abigail Wilkins, Kolbee, Emmersyn and Saylor Higdon and Breigh, Kinley and London Jones, two brothers, James Higdon of Leitchfield and Charlie Higdon of Clarkson.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Laney Higdon and a brother, Cecil Higdon.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, (December 30, 2022) at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Peonia. Father Brian Johnson will be officiating. Burial will be in the St Anthony Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. Friday until 10:30 a.m. at which time he will be taken to the church.
