Leitchfield police are investigating after over $20,000 in rings was stolen from The Jewelry Box.
The theft occurred Thursday, Leitchfield Police Department Det. Sgt. Ian Renfrow said.
Surveillance video shows two black males enter the store, at 1599 Elizabethtown Road, with one suspect distracting an employee as the other suspect “discretely grabbed two rings from the display,” but only placed one of the rings back in the display tray.
Authorities believe the suspects are in possession of six rings worth over $20,000.
“By the actions of these two suspects, they appear to be experienced, organized, and clever,” Renfrow said. Law enforcement believes the suspects have victimized other businesses in the region using the same tactics.
The suspects were traveling in a newer model white sedan.
Anyone with information on the two suspects is asked to contact the Leitchfield Police Department at 270-259-3850.
