A western Kentucky attorney already facing a trial for abusing and neglecting a man with disabilities has been indicted for knowingly exploiting adults out of tens of thousands of dollars.

The Kentucky Attorney General’s Office Medicaid Fraud Unit led the investigation that resulted in the indictment of 68-year-old Kenneth V. Anderson and his wife, 63-year-old Gina S. Anderson, of McCracken County, “for theft and the exploitation of vulnerable adults,” according to investigators.

On Friday, a McCracken County Grand Jury indicted the Anderson’s on 25 counts of knowing exploitation of an adult (more than $300, a class C felony), five counts of theft by failure to make required disposition of property (over $10,000, a class C felony), and theft by failure to make required disposition of property (over $1,000 but less than $10,000, a class D felony).

According to the indictment, between 2006 and 2022 the couple knowingly exploited the finances of numerous vulnerable adults, investigators said.

In a separate matter, Kenneth Anderson is scheduled to stand trial in Ballard County in April 2023 for knowingly abusing or neglecting a 23-year-old man with “severe disabilities,” according a report by the Courier-Journal.

As of Monday night, the couple had not yet been arrested.
