An eastern Kentucky high school head baseball coach has been indicted following the suspect showing a sex video to some of his players.
Alex Hamilton, 28, of Jackson, the head baseball coach at Breathitt County High School since 2020, according to the KHSAA website, was indicted Tuesday on six counts of distributing obscene matter to minors, three counts of tampering with a witness, tampering with physical evidence, and two counts of video voyeurism.
The incident, according to media reports, occurred in May of this year.
WYMT.com reports that the indictment states that Hamilton “knowingly and unlawfully used a recording filming and photographing the sexual conduct or genitals of another person without that person’s content.”
Hamilton, after graduating from Breathitt Co. High School, played college baseball at EKU from 2014 until 2017.
Breathitt County Schools Superintendent Phillip Watts issued a statement following the indictment saying that Hamilton was a “volunteer baseball coach,” and that “the matter was reported to law enforcement and the coach has not been actively involved with our baseball program since that time.”
Hamilton’s full-time job is as an agent with Kentucky Farm Bureau, Breathitt County Agency.
