The cross country coach at a central Kentucky high school has been arrested on multiple child sex charges dating back to an incident in 2015.
Kentucky State Police arrested Bourbon County High School cross country head coach Matthew S. Perraut, of Paris, and charged him with third-degree sodomy and unlawful transaction with a minor (illegal sex act).
Perraut does not teach at the high school but has been involved in the school’s cross country program since 2008, Bourbon County Superintendent Amy Baker said in a statement to media outlets. He has been suspended from his head coach position.
Perraut is also a former Paris City Commissioner, according to Fox56News.
The incident, news outlets report, occurred in November 2015 when Perraut took two members of the school’s cross country team, both males, to an adult woman’s residence. Perraut and the two juveniles allegedly had sex with the woman, with Perraut also accused of having sexual contact with one of the juveniles.
He was lodged in the Bourbon County Detention Center but is no longer listed as an inmate.
