A Caneyville man with a lengthy arrest history has been nabbed in Morgantown riding a motorcycle stolen from Grayson County.
According to Morgantown Police Chief Giles Taylor, on Wednesday night, Morgantown officers conducted a traffic stop on the motorcycle, being driven by 40-year-old Jody E. Embry, near the intersection of South Tyler Street and Porter Street.
Through an investigation, it was discovered the motorcycle had been reported stolen out of Grayson County. Embry was also found to be in possession of an unspecified drug.
Additionally, police discovered Embry had an indictment warrant out of Butler County.
Embry was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property (more than $1,000, less than $10,000), possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified) and driving on a suspended license along with non-moving violations.
He was lodged in the Butler County Jail.
Embry, a convicted felon, has been arrested nearly 20 times since 2010 on charges ranging from possession of and manufacturing methamphetamine, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), first- and second-degree wanton endangerment, drug trafficking, tampering with physical evidence, criminal mischief, fleeing or evading police, and escape.
In May of this year, Embry was indicted in Grayson County for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
The recent Butler County indictment charges Embry with fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), first-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Butler County Jail.
