A Clarkson man has been arrested after driving on a DUI suspended license for the third time as well as being in possession of methamphetamine.

Saturday night at approximately 10:15, Clarkson Police Officer Jordan Jones observed a 2009 Honda Accord with faulty equipment turn right from West Main Street onto Millerstown Street, according to the arrest citation.

Upon conducting a traffic stop and making contact with the driver, 28-year-old Brandon J. Pannell, the officer discovered the suspect did not have a valid driver’s due to a DUI conviction, the citation states. Further investigation showed Pannell had been caught driving on a DUI suspended license two other times.

Jones, after being given consent to search the vehicle, discovered a glass pipe containing methamphetamine. He also located a handgun inside the vehicle.

Pannell was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), driving on a DUI suspended license (third offense), possession of drug paraphernalia, and rear license plate not illuminated. The methamphetamine charged is enhanced due to the presence of the firearm.

He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

Grayson County Deputy Justin Cockerell assisted at the scene.
