A Pulaski County woman shot her husband during a domestic altercation.

Wednesday afternoon at approximately 5:30, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in Science Hill, a small community about eight miles north of Somerset, on the report of a shooting.

Sheriff Greg Speck told the Commonwealth Journal the preliminary investigation showed that 71-year-old Claudius Blevins and his wife, 71-year-old Margaret Blevins, were involved in an altercation when Margaret Blevins shot her husband.

Claudius Blevins was airlifted to University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. Speck told the newspaper on Thursday that he continues to recover.

No arrests have been made.

“Detectives with the sheriff’s office are evaluating the scene and evidence, and obtaining statements to determine what occurred,” Speck told the newspaper. “Once the investigation is complete, it will be presented to the Pulaski County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office for a determination concerning presentation to a Pulaski County Grand Jury.”
