An eastern Kentucky has been charged with murdering his wife, his uncle and his wife’s aunt.
Kentucky State Police arrested 21-year-old Ronnie R. Pack, of Paintsville, on Friday afternoon and charged him in the shooting deaths of Paula Wells and Richard Morman, both 56, and his wife, Renee Dorton-Pack, 36. All the victims were from Paintsville.
Morman, according to WOWK 13 News, was Ronnie Pack’s uncle and Wells was Renee Dorton-Pack’s aunt. The Paintsville Herald first reported that Renee Dorton-Pack was Ronnie Pack’s wife.
The deadly shooting occurred Friday morning at approximately 10:40 at the Packs’ residence on Depot Street in Paintsville. All three victims were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Pack was arrested about 90 minutes after the shooting in nearby Greentown after exchanging gunfire with police, Paintsville Mayor Bill Mike Runyon told media outlets. Pack was injured in the shooting and was transported to a local hospital but has since been released.
In addition to three counts of murder, Pack was charged with felony wanton endangerment of a police officer.
He was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
