A former financial officer for Bardstown has pled guilty of pilfering nearly $800,000 from the city.
Tracy Hudson, 41, recently pled guilty in U.S. District Court in Louisville to “fraud by wire, radio, or television,” according to the city of Bardstown website. Between 2013 and 2019, Hudson stole $764,093.
She was arrested in January by the FBI on one count of wire fraud. According to authorities, Hudson used city funds and credit cards for her personal use.
“The City of Bardstown has previously collected $484,121 total in reimbursement for Ms. Hudson’s thefts, including $134,121 from Ms. Hudson and $350,000 from the company that issued the surety bond for Ms. Hudson,” the city said on its website.
She faces up to 20 years in prison.
“The City is committed to securing the return of the remaining amounts owed by Ms. Hudson through restitution in the criminal process and, to the extent it is necessary and prudent, through the City’s pending lawsuit (against Hudson) in the Nelson Circuit Court,” the city said.
