An Elizabethtown man has been accused of strangling a woman.
On Tuesday, the Elizabethtown Police Department arrested 29-year-old Dexter K. Smith, after he was accused of twice twisting the collar of the victim’s shirt, strangling the female until she had difficulty breathing, according to a report by The News-Enterprise.
The victim told police that in addition to not being able to breathe, she began hyperventilating and became dizzy.
Police said the woman had an abrasion on her neck from the assault.
Smith was charged with first-degree strangulation, a felony, and lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $10,000 cash bond.
