Caneyville man with long history of drug convictions busted with nearly an ounce of methamphetamine by Beaver Dam PD

A Caneyville man with a long history of drug convictions has been arrested with nearly an ounce of methamphetamine and over $1,100 in cash.

According to the Beaver Dam Police Department, on Thursday afternoon at approximately 3:45, officers responded to a minor, single-vehicle accident on the Western Kentucky Parkway.

During the investigation, police discovered the driver, 46-year-old Anthony Gordon Campbell, was in possession of 23.6 grams of methamphetamine, $1,120 in cash and syringes.

Campbell was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and driving on a DUI suspended license.

He was lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center. He is no longer listed as an inmate.

Campbell’s convictions reach back to November 2010 when he was convicted in Grayson County for manufacturing methamphetamine, tampering with physical evidence and promoting contraband, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections (KDC).

In February 2014, he was convicted in Grayson County for manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance and theft by unlawful taking. The drug possession and theft charges were enhanced by a second-degree persistent felony offender count, the KDC states.

Then, in September 2019, Campbell was convicted for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), also in Grayson County.

He is on probation until November 2029.
