A portion of a Grayson County roadway will close starting on Monday, July 18, for a construction project.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesperson Chris Jessie says the affected area is KY 736, from just north of KY 54 to the bridge over Little Short Creek at Milepoint 12.65.

The closure is due to state officials needing to replace a “deteriorating, large culvert pipe.”

Detours will be signed along KY 54, KY 79, and KY 110.  Detour routes utilize portions of Breckinridge and Ohio Counties.

Work to replace the culvert is expected to take approximately one month to complete.

The map below shows an overview of the closure location marked by the large “X” and detour routes marked by red arrows. Message boards are posted to alert local traffic and are indicated on the map by the smaller “X” locations on either end of the KY 736 closure section.  Local traffic access will be maintained on either side of the culvert work area.
