The Caneyville Fire Department will host a live auction and car cruise-in to benefit the Old Caneyville School project and the fire department.
The items that will be auctioned off were donated by families of two Caneyville residents who have passed away.
“Items from the family of Janice Minton were donated for the restoration of the Old Caneyville School (and) also for the Caneyville Fire Department,” Caneyville Fire Chief Brian Pharris said. ”Janice Minton was a strong, loving person for helping her community out and wanting to see the community of Caneyville grow.”
The family of Midge Keller donated a number of items for the auction, as well.
“Other items that are in the auction were donated to the Caneyville Fire Department by the family of Midge Keller, also a loving person in the Caneyville community,” Pharris stated. “
Additional items have been donated for the auction “by several people in the community to help support the Caneyville Fire Department,” Pharris added.
“The Caneyville Fire Department would like to thank the families of Janice Minton and Midge Keller for sharing a loving person with the community,” Pharris said.
The live auction will take place Saturday, June 18 at 1:00 p.m. at the Caneyville Purple Flash Center gym.
The Caneyville Cruise-In will take place later that evening, from 5:00 until 7:00, also at the Caneyville Purple Flash Center. There will be a $50 prize for Crowd Favorite along with Door Prizes.
Concessions will be available at both events, as Caneyville Fire Department members will grill hamburgers and hot dogs.
