Fatal accident at Elizabethtown factory takes life of young worker

A fatal accident at a large Elizabethtown plant has taken the life of a young man.

Elizabethtown Police Department spokesman Officer Chris Denham told K105 that officers responded to Metalsa, at 750 North Black Branch Road, on the report of a fatal accident at approximately 3:00 Tuesday morning.

Upon investigation, police discovered that 24-year-old Lance Winemiller, of Elizabethtown, was killed when he was struck by a forklift. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No further information is being released at this time.

One of Hardin County’s top employers, Metalsa is an auto supplier that produces frames and other parts for Ford Expedition, Navigator and F-150 trucks.
