The junior defeated University Heights’ Ethan Alexander (6-0, 6-0) and Corbin’s Nathaniel Hill (6-3, 6-1) to reach the next round.
Brown will return to the court on Wednesday morning at 8:15 am CT against North Oldham’s Eli Wood with an opportunity to advance to the state quarterfinals. If he wins, he will play again the same day at 1:00 pm CT.
Also in action on Tuesday, the Cougars’ doubles team of Griffin Powell and Chase Richardson defeated Whitefield Academy in the first round.
They fell to a duo from McCracken County in their second-round match ending a strong season for the GCHS pair.
