The Grayson County High School tennis team has won a pair of 3rd Region runner-up trophies at this week’s tournament in Owensboro.

Owen Brown, for the second consecutive year, finished as the region runner-up in boys’ singles. Last year, he went on to the state tournament and fell in the round of 32 to a senior from Bowling Green.

Grayson County’s doubles team of Griffin Powell and Chase Richardson also came away with the region runner-up trophy. This will be the first appearance in the state tournament for both athletes.

As a whole, the team also finished in second place in a very competitive region.

The KHSAA state tennis tournament will be held at the University of Kentucky from May 31 through June 2.
