The Grayson County High School track and field team medaled in 14 events during Tuesday’s regional competition.
The meet, which decides who will represent the region at next month’s state championship, was held at North Hardin High School.
Grayson County medaled in the following events: boys 200 dash Luke Milliner, 800m run Houston Brooks, 1600m run Houston Brooks, 3200m run Peyton Nash, boys 4X800m relay, boys pole vault Dylan Gibson and Zach Pierce, girls 400m run Ellie Evans, girls 300m hurdles Alexis Henderson, girls 4X100m relay, girls 4X200m relay, girls 4X400m relay, girls pole vault Amelia Hayes and Raylee Shepherd girls discus and shot put.
The team did not receive any automatic qualifiers to state. On May 28, they will learn if any of the names above qualify based on times/marks from across the state. Head coach Matt Hayes is hopeful for this to happen.
