Kentucky State Police has issued a correction to the agency’s original press release regarding the fatal motorcycle accident where the name and hometown of the decedent has been corrected — Instead of Andrew Parrett of Clarkson perishing in the accident, KSP now says that 39-year-old Jeremy Fegett, of Caneyville, died in the crash.

A Caneyville man has been killed in a motorcycle crash in Butler County.

Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the 4800 block of Reedyville Road (Hwy 185) in Butler County Sunday morning at approximately 12:20.

Police said the preliminary investigation showed that three motorcycles, being driven by 35-year-old Teddy Duke, of Morgantown; 34-year-old James Shepherd, of Jetson; and 39-year-old Jeremy Fegett, of Caneyville, were traveling south when Fegett passed the other two motorcycles, with Shepherd and Duke “losing sight of” Fegett.

Fegett, riding a 2003 Yamaha, then “made contact” with a 2012 John Deere tractor “and rotary cutter implement,” being operated by 34-year-old Carlos Hopper, of Bowling Green. Fegett, police said, was tossed from his motorcycle and then struck by Duke and Shepherd.

Fegett was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Butler County Coroner’s Office.

Shepherd and Duke were arrested and charged with DUI. According to the Butler County Jail, this marks Shepherd’s third DUI arrest.

The investigation is being led by Trooper Bo Hubbard.
