For the second time in eight days, a Kentucky school bus has been involved in a serious accident.

On Tuesday morning at approximately 7:10, a Jefferson County Public Schools bus overturned on I-64 after hydroplaning in the rain, Jefferson Co. Public Schools spokesman Mark Herbert told news outlets. He added that the bus rolled onto its side after hydroplaning.

The accident occurred between the 11- and 12-mile markers of I-64 west, in the St. Matthews area, news outlets report. The bus was taking students to duPont Manual High School, Noe Middle School and Meyzeek Middle School.

All 21 students on board were taken to three local hospitals but none of the students were required to stay overnight. The driver was not hurt in the wreck.

The St. Matthews Police Department is investigating the crash.

On the afternoon of April 26, a McCracken County school bus was struck by an SUV about four miles west of Paducah. The bus flipped onto its side.

A dozen Lone Oak Middle School students were transported to Paducah area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, McCracken County Schools said. Seven additional students were taken to the ER by their parents as a precaution.

None of the students were admitted to a hospital.

The driver of the SUV, a 17-year-old boy, was airlifted to a Nashville hospital.
