Six Grayson County High School students have been selected to participate in the prestigious Kentucky Governor’s Scholars Program (GSP).

GCHS juniors Colton Glenn, Dawson Gorby, William Keiran, Luke Milliner, Jake Rogers, and Sierra Secora were chosen to attend the program, which takes place this summer.

Additionally, Blaine Aubrey and Hannah Morales were selected as alternates.

The GSP is a four-plus week residential program for outstanding rising senior Kentucky high school students. The program strives to enhance Kentucky’s next generation of civic and economic leaders, the GSP website says. Established in 1983, the program provides academic and personal growth through the balance of a strong liberal arts program with a full co-curricular and residential life experience. Students must complete an application and compete with others from across the state. Those selected attend the program free of charge.

Students selected must be nominated by their high schools and then compete on a statewide level. Only 1,020 are selected from all applicants. This year’s sessions will be held on the campuses of Centre College, Bellarmine University and Morehead State University.
