The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office has seized a significant amount of methamphetamine, firearms and a “large amount of U.S. currency,” and arrested a Hardin County resident.

The sheriff’s office said that deputies and detectives along with the London Police Department and a drug interdiction team arrested two suspects at 2:00 Tuesday morning during a traffic stop on Hwy 25, about four miles south of London.

During a search of the vehicle, police located over two pounds of methamphetamine, six firearms, one of which was stolen, a considerable amount of cash, and marijuana, the sheriff’s office announced.

Police arrested 40-year-old Michael C. Berry, of Rineyville, and 34-year-old Amara P. Creech, of Highland, Illinois.

Both were charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a stolen firearm and trafficking in marijuana. The drug charges are enhanced due to the presence of firearms.

They were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
