The Oldham County woman wanted on murder and other charges after a DUI crash killed a teen has surrendered to police.

Oldham County authorities had been looking for 43-year-old Theresa A. Devine, of Goshen, who is accused of driving drunk and crashing into a vehicle, killing a 16-year-old girl. Police had been searching for Devine since her indictment late last week for murder, two counts of assault, seven counts of felony wanton endangerment and being a persistent felony offender.

She turned herself in to authorities Monday night and was booked into the Oldham County Detention Center a few minutes after 10:00 p.m. Devine is being held on a $1 million cash bond.

The fatal wreck occurred on the morning of November 10, 2021, in the 6200 block of Hwy 42, a major thoroughfare in Oldham County. Police said Devine was driving a Dodge Ram truck when she crossed the center line and struck a Mazda passenger car, being driven by 19-year-old Zoe Fairfield. Fairfield’s passenger and sister, 16-year-old Lily Fairfield, was killed in the crash.

Zoe Fairfield suffered serious injuries, while a passenger in the Dodge, 40-year-old Joshua Watts, of Shelbyville, was also injured.

According to WAVE.com, Devine was arrested only three days prior to the fatality crash on DUI and careless driving charges in Jefferson County. Additionally, WAVE.com reports that Devine has been arrested at least 13 times since 2010.
