
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Grayson and surrounding counties in effect, at the moment, until 6:30 p.m.
The county is also under a Tornado Watch until 10:00 p.m.
A large system has arrived on the western edge of Grayson County. According to the NWS, radar is indicating an abundance of lightning strikes accompanying the system. At the moment (6:00 p.m.), heavy lightning is impacting the the Central City/Madisonville area.
The system packs winds up to 40 miles per hour. The NWS expects “considerable tree damage,” with mobile homes, roofs and outbuildings also possibly impacted.
The storm is expected to reach Hartford at 6:05 p.m., the NWS said.
UPDATE: The NWS has issued a TORNADO WARNING for Grayson County until 7:00 p.m.
