A tip led the arrest of two Edmonson County residents, one a convicted felon, on drug trafficking charges.
According to the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office, on Saturday night at approximately 7:40, deputies executed a search warrant in the 3900 block of Chalybeate School Road “after receiving intelligence of possible drug trafficking.”
Upon arriving at the residence, deputies made contact with 26-year-old Steven W. Embry and 29-year-old Kyra L. Holt, both residents of the home, police said.
During a search of the property, deputies located methamphetamine, firearms, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and cash.
Both suspects were arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), trafficking in marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Embry was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and persistent felony offender.
All of the drug charges are enhanced due to the presence of firearms.
The suspects were lodged in the Hart County Jail. Embry is being held on a $5,000 cash bond. Holt is no longer listed as an inmate.
