A death investigation is underway in Clarkson.
Monday morning at approximately 10:00, Clarkson Police Chief Buck Meredith was dispatched to Brentwood Manor Apartments at 328 North Patterson Street after a deceased older female was found about 100 yards from the apartment complex. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by Grayson County Coroner Joe Brad Hudson.
The woman was a resident of the complex.
Meredith and Grayson County Chief Deputy Jarrod Mudd worked the scene before contacting Kentucky State Police.
According to Kentucky State Police Public Affairs Officer Scotty Sharp, troopers and detectives are currently conducting a death investigation. At this point, Sharp said, authorities do not believe foul play was involved in the death. But the preliminary autopsy results, which generally take one to two days to receive, should provide additional insight into the death.
The body was transported by the Grayson County Coroner’s Office to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville for autopsy.
