A Hardin County man has been jailed after allegedly strangling a woman.
Elizabethtown police arrested 31-year-old Justin L. Pitcher, of Elizabethtown, after being waved down by the female victim who was standing in a driveway, according to a report by The News-Enterprise. The woman told police that Pitcher and her were arguing when the accused struck her in the face with a shoe and then began strangling her.
A witness told police she saw Pitcher hit the woman with an “unknown object,” the newspaper reports.
Pitcher was charged with first-degree strangulation, a felony, and fourth-degree assault (domestic violence). He was also served with probation violation warrant. Pitcher is on probation until February 2025 after being convicted in Hardin County of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and flagrant non-support, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections.
He was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $25,000 cash bond.
