An Ohio County man has been shot dead in his home.
Ohio County Sheriff Tracy Beatty said that late Saturday night, 33-year-old Aaron McQuady, of Sebree (Webster Co.), traveled to Rockport and opened fire with multiple firearms on a residence, killing Matthew Wallace, of Rockport. Also struck by the gunfire was Christopher Wallace, of Rockport. He was transported by EMS to a local hospital. His current condition has not been released.
There were multiple families and children present during the shooting, Beatty said, which was captured by surveillance cameras.
McQuady was located at his residence by the Webster County Sheriff’s Office early Sunday morning and arrested.
He has since been lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center where he’s been charged with murder and first-degree assault. McQuady is being held on a $100,000 cash bond.
Police have not released a motive for the shooting nor the relationship between the two shooting victims.
Beatty said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are likely.
