Two men have been killed in a plane crash in Lincoln County.

Kentucky State Police responded to the crash Friday night at approximately 5:00 in the Crab Orchard community, about 13 miles south of Lancaster.

Upon arriving at the scene, state police said troopers found a “fixed wing, single-engine airplane” had crashed in a densely wooded area off Begley Road.

The two occupants, 61-year-old Ronald Eldridge and 63-year-old Lowell Strong, both of Nicholasville, were found deceased in the aircraft, according to Kentucky State Police.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board, along with Kentucky State Police, are investigating the crash.

The bodies were transported to the state Medical Examiner’s Officer in Frankfort for autopsies.
