There has been an officer-involved shooting in Elizabethtown.
The shooting occurred Tuesday just before 6:00 p.m. local time, The News-Enterprise reports. The male Elizabethtown Police Department officer was at a residence on Pleasant View Drive, parallel to North Dixie Highway in a densely residential area, on an investigation. At some point, the officer fired his weapon, striking the suspect, Elizabethtown police told the newspaper.
The condition and identity of the suspect have not been released. The officer’s name has also not yet been released.
The Kentucky State Police Incident Response Team is leading the investigation.
