A major drug arrest has been made in Leitchfield, police said.
The Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force arrested 28-year-old Kameron R. Owens, of Leitchfield, after the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office arrived to serve an indictment warrant at the suspect’s Commerce Drive residence.
(Owens was previously indicted for methamphetamine trafficking after he was found with about 30 grams of the drug. He was also indicted for trafficking in marijuana after being caught with about 200 grams of weed. Additionally, he was indicted on theft-related charges.)
Upon the sheriff’s office recently arriving at Owens’ home to serve the indictment warrant, police said deputies immediately contacted the task force as drug trafficking paraphernalia was spotted in plain view inside the residence.
Upon task force members arriving, they located about 10 grams of methamphetamine in a bag in a toilet along with other narcotics and pills. Numerous possibly stolen “high dollar” items were also found on the property, according to a task force member, including DeWalt and Craftsman tools.
Owens was arrested and charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), five counts of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, opiates, drug unspecified), receiving stolen property, acquiring property from income from trafficking in a controlled substance, prescription drug not in its proper container, tampering with physical evidence, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.
He is lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center on multiple $10,000 cash bonds.
Approximately two years ago, Owens was placed on a five-year diversion program after being arrested on drug charges.
The investigation continues.
