The Beaver Dam man accused of illegally taking his son and niece is now believed to be in Michigan with the two children.
Jacob F. Clare, 35, has an arrest warrant out of Gallatin, Tennessee, for custodial interference after he failed to return his son, three-year-old Noah Clare, on Sunday, November 7. Jacob Clare also has his niece, 16-year-old Amber Clare. She was last seen Friday night November 5 at approximately 9:30 at her Beaver Dam residence.
According to WILX, a Lansing, Michigan, news outlet, the Clares are thought to be on their way to or are already in Harbor Springs, Michigan, a small resort town on Lake Michigan. It’s unclear why Jacob Clare has possibility traveled to the area.
Initially, police said Jacob Clare was driving a Subaru Outback, but authorities now say the three are traveling in a silver 2005 Subaru Legacy with several stickers on the rear of the vehicle.
“They’ve identified a vehicle that we were unaware that he purchased which is the silver Subaru Legacy,” Beaver Dam Police Dept. Lt. Tommy Phelps said. “It has some very distinctive stickers on the back of it. I believe that’s going to be how we locate them.”
Noah Clare stands three feet, five inches tall and weighs 40 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing gray pants, a camo shirt and black jacket along with black shoes.
Amber Clare stands five feet, seven inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. She has green eyes and dirty blonde hair.
Jacob Clare is six feet, six inches tall with a thin build. He has dark hair and hazel eyes and three tattoos: On his left arm he has a tribal sleeve; on his right forearm is “Clare,” with a wraparound on his right arm muscle, police said.
