An Elizabethtown woman has been killed by an alleged drunk driver a wrong-way crash on I-65 in Louisville.

Duaa Lutfi, 22, was pronounced dead at University of Louisville Hospital early Saturday morning. According to media reports, she was driving south on the interstate at approximately 4:00 Saturday morning near the Arthur Street exit when a 17-year-old intoxicated male, driving the wrong way, slammed head-on into Lutfi’s vehicle.

Another vehicle was also struck, but the occupants did not have serious injuries.

Two of Lutfi’s passengers were seriously injured and transported to University of Louisville Hospital. One of the other passengers was in critical condition while the other suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The 17-year-old wrong way driver, who was critically injured and whose name has not been released, has been charged with murder, assault, DUI, and first-degree wanton endangerment.
